What makes a business suitable for franchising?
What makes a franchisor successful?
Why do franchises work?
What is franchising?
A franchised business involves companies trading as a branch of that business e.g. larger franchisors like McDonald’s, and smaller locally run businesses. Each branch is owned by a franchisee (a person sold a licence to launch it, by the owner). People looking to run their own business with less risk and a guaranteed quick wage are the best franchisees.
It is not ‘a miracle cure’
Objectives Reached provides a unique service, we offer a fixed price which includes business support throughout the franchising process. Many business owners are unsure if they are ready to franchise their business, so within our fee we help them to develop the company to that point.
Philippa Cunningham of Pink Plumbing has worked through that process. Over the last 12 months, she has increased her own plumbing qualifications, added Gas Safe and simplified her processes.
It has taken our time to provide general business growth advice and support during this period, and it is covered within our standard £5,000 small business franchise package. We are compensated now, as when we are completing her franchise documentation, we will spend less time as the business model is right for franchise.
This approach allows the owner to build up capital in the business for expansion.
Another example we have, is working with a national provider of OFSTED approved Teacher Training and other vocational courses. We have a fixed price contract as the Business Development Manager, to develop the business for franchising. This is much more than a franchising contract and we will assist with the training and support of the first franchisees.
Our service is flexible, and like all our services we deliver the parts of the growth plan that the business owner and their managers either cannot or do not wish to provide. As we are working on fixed cost contracts the owners are comfortable.
